Ah, this brings back memories (click the image to see the animation at giphy.com (embedding here made my blog/server choke!)):
And worse than this was when you actually did entered all the stuff, and then all the stuff again, hit submit, and it threw an error…..
ARRRRRGH!!!
hat tip: About Job Search‘s facebook page
This is a little bit of hell that HR has developed (or their IT suppliers).
I recently tried to apply to a small company that required so much information, I decided it wasn’t worth it. Maybe that is how they eliminate people.
There are only a few types of software that I see. Why can’t they make a common resume/process. If they want a note, fine. But nothing else is going to be different.
Even when getting a job through networking, at some point HR is going to want you in the system. So it is back to filling out the forms.
Reminds me of when I interviewed for my first job out of college… was a great job, IT Manager… and after I was offered the job the CFO was like “oh, by the way, you have to fill out this job application.” It was a copy of a copy of a copy, looked like a McDonalds application. I was shocked that they would have managers fill out that ridiculous form. But, had to do it, for it was HR’s policy.
